First Presbyterian Church
The church was rebuilt after British forces burned Springfield during the 1780 battle. The Continental Soldier statue outside is associated with New Jersey’s smallest state park.

Getting here and around
- By car: Route 22 runs directly through Springfield; I-78 and Route 24 are nearby regional connections.
- By rail: There is no NJ Transit rail station in Springfield. The township operates a commuter jitney to Short Hills Station; nearby Millburn and Summit stations may also be useful depending on origin and destination.
- Route 22 employees and riders: Union County’s Route 22 Safety Shuttle serves stops along the corridor through Springfield and neighboring municipalities.
- Airport: Newark Liberty International Airport is roughly 10–12 miles away by road depending on route; allow for traffic.
